Industrial Replacement Castors

E V Leonard Limited is delighted to offer our standard range of replacement castors. As with all products manufactured and supplied by EV Leonard, top quality, brand name and value for money are paramount. We have detailed our standard range of castors by capacity for ease of product selection. When choosing your castor consider the following:

• Total load of unit including the trolley frame divided by three on a four castor trolley.
• There are three main types of castor available, swivel castors, fixed castors and swivel castors with a brake.
• Consider wheel types and wheel diameters. Hard nylon wheels offer less rolling resistance but can be noisy and will not absorb vibration or ride over obstacles easily. Cushion and elastic tyres may be a better solution but under heavy loads may flatten at the base causing increased rolling resistance. Softer rubber tyres may also pick up swarf in engineering applications. Polyurethane tyred wheels would be a solution for heavier applications being harder wearing than rubber and able to take heavier loads.
• The larger the wheel diameter the easier the trolley will move but consider height restrictions and cost.
• When fitting your castor the most common option is a four bolt hole top plate fitting. On the lighter ranges there are options of single bolt hole fitting and round and square tube expander fittings.

We believe that with our concise standard castor offering we have covered 80% of our customer’s requirements with the highest quality, branded castors available.

We have offered the best specification available on all our standard castor ranges including double ball race swivel heads in our light duty castor ranges, total stop brakes wherever available. We have offered ball bearing wheel bores or needle roller bearing bores, only offering plain bearing options on our light duty range. Where possible we have also offered thread guards, hub guards and dust shields again all as standard.
